Chatting
Skill City Navigator features a chat system that will allow you to send a private message to a friend, chat in groups, or talk to everybody who is playing a specific game. You can also maintain a large list of friends and see what they are all up to with your Friends List.
First, lets talk about using the chat interface.

Above is a small view of the Skill City Navigator's chat box. This area is with you wherever you go in Skill City, especially in games so you can talk to your opponent.
The RED arrow is pointing out the Text Area. This is where you can see what everybody is saying, and also see important notifications.
The GREEN arrow is pointing to the Name Area which lists other Skill City users, who are chatting in the same chat room as you. There can be multiple chat rooms, and you can be in more than one at a time.
That is where the BLUE arrow comes in. It is indicating the chat room Tabs. Each tab is its own room. As you create rooms to have private conversations, or chat with friends, these tabs will let you keep track of where you are and allow you to manage your multiple chat rooms easily. When you get a message in a chat room that you arent looking at, its tab will flash to get your attention. If you have a lot of tabs, there are two little buttons which will let you scroll up and down through your list. See them in the image above, just under the blue arrow. If you create a custom room, and your friend create a room with the same name, you will both be in the same room. This is how you can make a private chat room for many people at once!
The YELLOW arrow is in the Message Box. This is where you click your mouse and type in your messages. When you are done typing and you want others to see what you wrote, you can press ENTER or you can click the send button. Notice that the yellow arrow is pointing to the send button.
Game Specific Chat

When you click on a game, you will notice the above message appears in your Text Area, or something like it. This is a Notification Message. Its important to notice that it doesnt have a name in front of it, because it was sent to you from the Skill City server, and not from another player. This notification is telling you that you have automatically joined a new chat room.

Notice that you also have a new tab for that game? Every time you visit a game page in your Skill City Navigator you will join a chat room for that game. This will let you find other people who are interested in playing that game.
General Chat Room

Click Chat Room in the Skill City Navigator's Places list, and you will be take to the Chat Room screen. This is just like the other chat, only this one is huge! Its for general chatting on anything you want to talk about, and its a great place to go and chat with other Skill City players. When you are in the Players Online screen, you are also in the Chat Room chat at the same time!
If you right-click a name in the Name Area you will get a menu that has some basic commands. You can add friends, ignore people, challenge them to a game, or just send them a private message. Dont be afraid to experiment and learn how all these commands work.
There are other commands available from the Message Box and from the Right-Click menu as well. Here is a list of commands you can use.
/tell or /whisper [name] message
Send a message directly to the name given. This opens a new Chat Tab with the person, where you can then carry on a private conversation.
example: /tell Alexander Hey how is Holland?
/ignore [name]
Adds the name to your ignore list. You will no longer see messages or challenges from this person. To remove them simply /ignore them again.
/emote [text]
This will appear as "your_name text" in dark blue text. For example if a player named Byatis types "/emote barfs." then the chat box would say "Byatis barfs."
/leave
You will depart the custom channel you are in now.
/afk [message]
Let people know that you are away, with an optional message. If no message is specified, players will see “[player] is Away From Keyboard” when they try to chat with you.
/help Causes the help system to pop up in your web browser where our Skill City Guide is happy to assist you.
